News : MyADManager Plugin for Wordpress 1.0 Wishlist
I had initially coded and released MyADManager for only my site and was not planning to release it to the public. I released MyADManager last October and I have had tremendous response from all the Users for this plugin.
The last version 0.9.3 is compatible with Wordpress 2.6.3 and currently has lot of issues with Wordpress 2.7.x .
Currently I am working on the new version 1.0 which will feature a lot of changes from the previous versions and will be fully compatible with Wordpress 2.7.x
Proposed Features for MyADManager 1.0
- Multiple Regions i.e User can create various sizes of ADs as individual region.
1. Every region can show ‘x’ number of ADS. Every region will support ‘x’ ADs horizontally and ‘y’ ADs Vertically.
2. Individual Styling for every Region, template.
For example : four 125×125 px ADS as region 1 in the sidebar, One 250×250 AD as region 2 above the sidebar etc. - Various Currency options to accept payments. Currently only $ are accepted, the new version will allow different currencies supported by PayPal.
- Transaction table to offer more details regarding the User who has bought ADs.
- Custom Duration allotment. Currently there are 2 viz 1 week, 1 month.
New Version will have 1 week, 1 month, 3 month, 6 month and 1 year. - AD/Image Upload Feature. Currently the ADs are linked Images.
Guys, I need more input from you guys as to what all features you would like in this plugin. I may not have been able to answer many of your queries regarding the plugin. There are lot of compatibility issues with Wordpress 2.7. So I intend to release the new version as soon as possible.
I really hope you guys will co-operate and help me out with this, and I am extremely sorry to those Users who have posted queries and I haven`t replied to yet.
Cheers

Hi Michael,
I want to add on to Danny’s suggestions. Beside having different ad sizes, also include text links. Some people may want to advertise just text links. It would be great if there are so many options that advertisers can choose. And also plublish their ads make more money.
I also would like to suggest on creating zones. So that I can specify which ad should appear on which zone. And this give advertiser more option to choose from whether is header ad (468 x 60), sidebar ad (125 x 125), text link ad (able to display up to maximum 10 links), blog post ad (250 x 250) or blog post footer ad (468×60). Best is of course we can able to create multiple zones for different types and sizes of ads.
Do consider my suggestion
By the way, I really do like MyAdManager plugin.

And one more thing. If let’s say there are no advertiser’s ads being display or after their ads expired, it would be better that it shows a default ad (just a black background) saying “Click here to advertise this spot” or “Grab your adspace now before anyone does”, something like that.
To me, it would be kinda ugly if no ad display and left a blank space there. I would rather tell people that there’s a spot for their ad.
I’m looking forward for the updated version

Glad you liked it Calvin and thanks for the suggestions.
Btw yes, the zones have been incorporated and ADs are retrieved via new enginem I am working on the Administrative interface. A lil caught up here with GSoC, but will release the new version any time now.
Also, Click here to advertise in this spot has also been incorporated

Hi Michael
I have more if you don’t mind.
1. In the admin panel, are you able to display a various style options for the ads form or Style Editor so we can style our own ad forms?
Lastly, I found out in the end how to add the ads to my page but that was only in the admin panel. I found it hard to follow your step by step instruction on your website and was wondering if you can create a tutorial or a more define print with samples/images with context? Maybe you can use your own ads as a tutorial sample?

Hey Mike
I found almost the perfect example of my wishlist.
http://demo.oiopublisher.com/?s=2 and click on the advertise link on the right sidebar to view it.
>Browse image button
>Different Ad size
Hoping this helps in anyway.
Hope that

Hi Michael,
Mate! If only I found your plugin along time ago.
You have created something I have been searching for some time now and man you can not believe the process I went through lol. Glad to have finally find the answer here.
I am very surprise not many has commented on your site yet, so I consider myself lucky then to have it all to myself lol na kidding.
Seriously, man you are just too much to give us the opportunity for the type of features that could work or suit your plugin. It is an awesome plugin already but if you insist, I do have a wishlist to give to you if possible to achieve.
Wishlist:
1. I agree with wolfy, have a ‘Browse Image button’ for the buyer to search Ad on their computer (Hard drive).
2. Are we able to input our own Ad size e.g. 155 x 155 pxs, 700 x 100 pxs etc.
3. “I’m not too fussy about this one” but is it possible to have a cart when the Ad buyer click on that Ad and it takes you to a page with a list of all your different Ad sizes on your site e.g. 125 x 125 px, 700 x 100 px etc and have a shopping carts for all Ad sizes in case they might want to purchase other Ads on your site on that one page? Then they can go to checkout, pay the amount and upload their image?
I guess that will do for now but I will be happy to add some more later on if something else comes up.
Many thanks in advance

You could put a BROWSE IMAGE BUTTON on it ,
this would help the advertisers a whole lot !!! instead
of having them type in the url of ther image.they can just get the image from their computer. That would be sooo
sweet!!!!!!!!

consider it done…

Cool! I guess that’s one list out of the way

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to change the timer in the plugin. I would like to have ads displayed for much longer time periods than 30 days
