Hello Everyone,

Just so if you are wondering where the hell is the admin… I was working on a new project. I would like to introduce Webdevcodex.com (Web Dev Codex).

Web Development Codex as the name suggests will feature articles on web development, Design tips, CSS, XHTML, AJAX etc. Mashups on PHP/MySQL, Ruby on Rails, full fledged applications which can be used in for web development.

In a nutshell, Web Dev Codex will be having all my web development articles transferred from this site. The site will also be publishing screencasts on various topics.

Finally My Exams are Over !

After a month, finally my exams have ended. I had 4 papers, and frankly, they all didn`t go that great. My last exam Data Warehouse and Mining sucked the most ! :@ Anyways, so finally I am a Bacholer of Engineering – woohoo !

I got 6 months left before I join a company to work (don`t want to though), till then I am planning to take Vision Master Designs to bigger heights ! The company has a steady client base and hopefully, if I complete my Google Summer of Code Challenge successfully, it`ll give the company a big boost. If this happens, VMD will be a full time Web Consultant/Design/Developing Company !

So whats in it for you guys ? A lot of articles ! I have already began work on “Theme Scratchpad” for Wordpress. Its a theme builder. I am currently engaged in developing a UI. It is powered by jQuery . I`ll be writing my experiences along with tutorials about jQuery, ofcourse I am learning from the best, Javascript Almighty Mr. Andrew Ozz who was the lead Developer for the entire Administration Interface you see in Wordpress.

Along with “Theme Scratchpad”, MyADManager 1.0 is coming. Its got better host features and will be releasing soon.

Which versioning tools to use for your project/application ? SVN or GIT

Imagine…you are working on a software project, there are loads of files and you are constantly making changes to it. Suppose, because of some modifiction the program stops responding or not working the way it should and its almost impossible for you to find the “needle” (error) from the haystack, what would you do ?!

Well I had numerous experiences such as this. After a lot of research I found out about CVS and SVN, GIT. These are methods to keep a version of your software from the time it is concieved, monitering every small change and till the time is done. The best part, if anything goes wrong, you can always revert back to the previous version.

This post is a small compilation of different versioning systems. I won`t be talking about CVS since it is kinda outdated and in the open-source community GIT or SVN is preferred.

I wanted to share this news long ago, but lacked the time. *Blogging takes up lot of my time * but anyways, most of you might have noticed a new page on my nav bar named “Proposal”, actually that was my proposal for this years Google Summer of Code. You won`t believe it, I wrote that my proposal in an hour and posted it to google just 2minutes before the deadline… phew. So much for last minute submissions…. For aspiring GSoCers, it is one tip you should not follow Wanna find out what happened next ?!

A month long ordeal finally over ! Product = OptimaPrime, Result = First Prize

Ok, so the title doesn`t make much sense huh !? I wasn`t available for an entire month and the reason…. Optima Prime – Enterprise Project Management System. Well,  this is my last year in graduation college and we had to create a project which will stand out, and here it is

So wat is it all about ?

Before I start, we had developed a Chart or Poster to depict what our software is all about. This is the poster, it may be a lil cluttered, but it pretty much explains what our project is all about

We won the first prize for our project along with another Project (Rank Retrieval System). But more than prize, I guess for all the hard work put in, we have got what we wanted, Exposure….

What is PMS ?

Its been a long time since I have posted any article on my website. I know this place looks deserted… well …not anymore.

When I had begun this site 7months ago, I barely had any clue on how to manage a site or what to write on it. I decided to start a site on what I love to do most, “Learn new things about new Technologies”. I managed to learn a lot of the stuff I have written in this website by simply doing a lot of research over the internet and Hey ! to be frank, the Internet is a HUGE place and anyone can get lost (even while having the most powerful search tool i.e Google). Either ways the point is, I wanted to give a chance to newbies like me where they can get to know new programming languages or tips/tricks, techniques on existing ones and information about latest technologies @ one place.

What I wish to do in the future ? My Short term Goals.

• Expand my Wordpress Plugin MyADManager to be compatible with the latest version and provide more features.
• I am currently working on my B.E (final year) project called OptimaPrime – The Enterprise Project Management System and aim to complete it within the next 1month and win a prize
• Currently engaged with 2 web projects, wish to complete it and get paid
• Learn Ruby on Rails in and out.
• Get 500 Feed Readers & 50,000 Visitors/month for Vision Master Designs within the next 4 months.
• Write a lot of new tutorials and solve my readers queries

For now, I hope you like the new design. I have tried to make it more User Friendly. You might have noticed a Featured Section. This layout is more like a Magazine layout. No Clutters, simple Navigation. Comments always welcome

Welcome to Vision Master Designs. Just 3 months ago, this website was started with one intention, to provide knowledge to the newbies because when I was a newbie I had a very tough time getting to know lot of different things. And today I am proud about what this website has become. It is ranked 154,547 in the Alexa Rankings and for a 3 month old website I think it is a HUGE achievement !!! I still remember when a lot of people told me that such a website will never work, but .. I proved them wrong .

As you can see the entire look of the website has been redone. There may be a few bugs/glitches here and there, but please don`t mind them, they will be sorted out very soon, although if you find any, please do post them here. I haven`t been able to update my website very frequently because of lot of constraints and I wish to change all that with these updates.
